Efficacy of Pilate’s Exercise with Postural Advice in the Management of Low Back Pain for Lower Limb Amputee Patients: A Randomised Control Trial

Objective: To observe the effectiveness of Pilate’s exercise, with postural advice to reduce low back pain for lower limb amputee patients. Material and Methods: An assessor-blind, randomised control trial design has been used wherein sixty-two patients were divided into two groups by simple random allocation. The experimental group received Pilates’ Training Program advice, usual care at prosthetic department. There thrity-one participants in both that completed study. Both attended a 15-minute specialized, supervised session; 5 days week, 4 weeks. Outcomes measured terms numeric rating scale specific function & disability lumbo-pelvic region Roland-Morris Low Back Pain Disability Questionnaire. Descriptive (median inter quartile range, IQR) inferential statistics (Pearson Chi-square test, Mann-Whitney U test Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test) performed analyse data through Statistical Package Social Sciences (SPSS), Windows version 25 (IBM, Armonk, NY, USA). Results: Average age was 33 (29.75 47.50) years; whereas, average duration amputation 11 (7 13) months compared 8 (6 11) group. showed significant improvement intensity functional ability intergroup analysis (p-value<0.05); additionally, intra-group exercise had better outcomes than who only (p-value<0.05). Conclusions: It concluded is effective rehabilitation amputee-induced pain. Additionally, exercises also led mechanical correction lumbo pelvic region.
